10 Corrections & Notable Distortions
Most consequential first. None of these require accepting or rejecting the UFO thesis — they are ordinary historical facts, and every one strengthens the credibility of anyone who gets them right.
- Trump / Resorts International — false date (headline error). Samosa says "mid-70s"; the intro says "mid-80s." Both wrong — Trump bought control in July 1987, fought Merv Griffin in 1988, emerged with the Taj Mahal. No 1970s connection.
- Maison Rouge — "Paris" is wrong; it was Strasbourg (US National Archives, SHAEF EW-Pa 128). Chaired by SS officer "Dr. Scheid," not Bormann; report dated 1944.
- WCC "250–500 subsidiaries" — false. The 1947 Time profile documents six. The inflated figure is central to the "shell-company = Maynard Consortium" argument.
- Magenta crash / Pius XII — false + anachronistic. Single anonymous 1996 source; Pacelli did not become Pius XII until 1939.
- Townsend Brown's "1958 Hartford crash retrieval" — false, and falsely credited to real historian Michael Swords.
- Dulles as WCC "legal counsel" — misleading; the documented adviser was Donovan's own firm. "Robert Rock/Rocca" quote is really columnist Robert Ruark. (Name-garbles: "Seeker"=Sicre, "Hansler"=Kammler.)
- Podesta "Clinton's chief of staff" = Hillary's campaign chairman (2016). "$200B laundered" = Moneyrex annual turnover, per Williams.
